Rain Sensors
No Rainbird sprinkler system would be complete without a Rainbird rain sensor. This device will automatically shut off your lawn sprinkler system during rain. There is a disc inside the rain sensor that is made of a cardboard/sponge like material that expands when it gets wet and contracts when it dries out. The expansion of the disc puts a break in the common (negative) wire going to the electric valves and the pump-start relay. Without a complete circuit, the valves will not open and the pump will not kick on.

Rain Checkā¢ Automatic Rain Shutoff
Primary Applications:
The Rain Check is indispensable in all automatic irrigation systems for residential use. It monitors rainfall levels and automatically overrides the controller to prevent unnecessary irrigation cycles.

- Does not change irrigation programs, but automatically interrupts watering cycle when rainfall exceeds pre-selected level. Automatic return to normal watering.
